My friend Sarker Protick is getting a ton of praise these days – and for good reason. His images are straight-up brilliant. Above is a sampling of a few different projects, but do yourself a favor and make your way over to his website to view all his work.

“LeWitt first encountered some of the artists he collected through day jobs. He was introduced to [Eva] Hesse in the late 1950s presumably at a work party organized by the architect I.M. Pei’s office, where LeWitt was then employed. In the early 1960s, he met Beery, Flavin, Scott Burton, Robert Mangold, and Robert Ryman at The Museum of Modern Art where they all had “flunky jobs,” to quote Lucy Lippard, who herself worked at the museum’s library; LeWitt was at the night desk.” –from LeWitt catal...

“Damp”   This photo was taken in an abandoned asylum that was torn down not long after I documented it. The location is Knoxville, Tennessee. I am still pretty new to photography - have been shooting just over two years now and am totally in love with the art. I have no formal training and am learning as I go. I am still using a entry level Nikon D3200, but hope to move on to a little better model soon.

seeking a tender soft mouthed person to masticate me adult male seeks person. i am financially independent and very tender, in more ways then one. i love spending my mornings walking the beach and looking out into the vast expanses and realizing over and over that my existence is only a minuscule part in a world that is much larger than i am capable of understanding, and that my life will ultimately be unmemorable but still impactful. i also enjoy hiking, a good cup of single origin coffee, spa...

Read about tonight’s Drawing Sound performance below. Hope you can join us! “Tonight in the Drawing Center’s newly renovated gallery, Billy Martin and several fellow percussionists will perform a “visual score” painted by the Medeski Martin & Wood member on a 200-year-old wooden post — the second performance in a three-night series titled Wandering. “It’s really just a bunch of x’s and dots representing various phrases and rhythms,” said Martin over the phone with us earlier toda...

Candida Höfer, On Kawara, Date Paintings in Private Collections I have a great appreciation that the only information I know about On Kawara is in his art works. I have no image in my mind of what he looked like, have never heard his voice or read an interview with him. Ed Ruscha created a pre-digital version of Google Street View, while On Kawara’s main projects are a pre-digital quantified self, the collection and display of personal metadata. A man wakes on a date, paints the date. A...

Phillip Low crafts his sculptures from colored acrylic sheets, which are then laminated onto acrylic blocks and milled into shape. To create different light effects with the colors, some sides are polished while others are left rough.(via Everything about the Way We Work is Changing.
