Richard Mosse No photoshop here, guys. Mosse brings a discontinued military surveillance film to this situation, representing an intangible conflict with a medium that registers an invisible spectrum of infrared light, and was originally designed for camouflage detection. The resulting imagery, shot on 16mm infrared film by cinematographer Trevor Tweeten, renders the jungle war zone in a disorienting psychedelic palette.

I shoot fashion and mostly use architecture or nature as my backdrops, most of my shots are done with natural lighting and/or a soft box diffuser. They’re not really “CMYK,” which is how Photoshop figures you’ll print something (because that’s how real printers do full color). So I plan out my colors from previous risograph prints, I mix the colors in Photoshop, but it doesn’t display the same way it’ll actually print.
